Analysis Plus Oval 9 or DH Labs T-14?

Sam, the problem with "voting" is rather obvious. You received negative votes, but why ? Is it because they like DH Labs wire better than Analysis Plus ? Is it because they don't think an external DAC is a worthwhile investment ? Is it because they don't agree with you comments about filtering and roll-off rates ? Is it because they disagreed with your comments about Cardas cables and the price versus performance ratio ? Is it because they think that he should dump the Sim Audio ? Is it because they disagree with ALL of your suggestions ? Is it because they just don't like you ? Is it because they don't like the thread topic ? We will never know. As it is, your comments that you thought were "good thoughtful advice that can truly be a help" are only "good & thoughtful" if someone agrees with you or shares your point of view and experiences. The same reasoning can be applied to positive votes. Why did they like what you said ? Was it everything that you suggested or just one specific comment ??? You get the idea....

As such, i think that this highlights exactly why i and many others don't normally vote and instead choose to "voice" our thoughts. When the rest of you realize what a farce "voting" is, we'll have one less thing to worry about. The more that you guys whine about getting negative votes, the more "power" you give to the critics to screw with you. Sean

Gunbei: The totals that we view on other's threads are a tally of all of the votes that have been placed for that post. As to why I could view the totals on Argent's post last night, I have no idea why this would be. The totals were however, not showing up this morning. A good "fix", IMO, would be to just dump/flush the voting system as a whole.

For Megasam's first post I give the highest marks and it show two sixes. For Fonsy66 I do the same and it shows two zeros. Sometimes it shows two twos. Audiogon needs to fix this thing.

When I rate a post and put "great & great" it shows I've given people a "two". Is that right? I didn't mean to give anybody the wrong impression. Sorry.

Hey, I just voted for the first time, in order to even up the score. I was simple to do (almost mindless) and much easier than composing a face to face (screen to screen) opinion in words. Now I truly feel that I can see where "some" of these votes are coming from. It's a little too voyeuristic for these Midwestern bones though, so I will just leave it up to the Super Freaks and won't spend much time there myself.

What a joke this voting system is! I give Gunbei good thoughtful advice that can truly be a help and get two negative votes!

Megasam, The MF E60 was the predecessor to the E624. It retailed for about $500 new. That should give you an idea of what I've got. I was about a hair from buying the Bel Canto DAC 1.1. At the last minute I decided to start with the SCD-777ES. I can get it at a Sony Employee discount price.

I will definitely order a set of Analysis Plus Oval 9s. The Bel Canto is something I may add later to the digital outs of the 777ESs CD stage.

gunbei,i have tried analysis plus oval 9 on all sort's of different combination's of gear,both solid state and tube's,the oval 9 is without no doubt a reference caliber cable,one of my favorite cable's was the cardas golden cross and the purist audio proteus both costing thousand's to do a whole system,the analysis plus cost hundred's and the music is just as enjoyable.give it an audition you'll be impress. good luck.

I am not familiar with MF E60 CDP but if it has a digital out the biggest single improvement you can make is upgrading
DAC with Bel Canto DAC 1.1, this does more to remove digital
hardness/leaness than anything else you will do. Slow roll-off filtering is the key, while giving increased detail at the same time. This will make bigger improvement than Sony 777ES on regular CD playback.

By all means replace DH Labs with Analysis Plus, superior in all respects and much fuller more natural sound. Cardas GC is top shelf but is very expensive for what you get. Also keep the Sim Moon I-5 for now and concentrate on your DAC, that is by far your weakest link currently.
