A Girlfriend trade in for a Less Tempestuous model...
An Urgent Hypothetical!
Lets just pretend, unless you really do of course, you have the speakers and components below. You are only allowed to come up with 3 stereos and anything not used must be trashed (he has an irrational country loving gf that probably....well...) ! All 3 stereos would be in similar rooms that are 30 x 20 ft with 15 foot ceilings. All 3 stereos need a digital streaming/server setup and 2 will have analogue lines. To make this decision tougher all hifi retailers, distributers and even your own friends won't sell you as much as a 1990s Sony Walkman.
Also, this hypothetical audio mega nerd doesn’t care which app he uses to stream or if he has to use multiple. He didn’t care about how audio equipment looked till he tried some totem speakers....The server aspect is of great importance to this long winded character. He does not watch television and considers "home theater " profane in his household. He also appreciates anyone who plays along...and appreciates any insight people provide on potential lines.

@Ihasguy...precisely! chose the contradictory title as its not a hypothetical at all...it is my exact situation as I must downsize from 3 structures to 1...I've been thinking of it as an interesting exercise as our community usually thinks of how to add to, or improve, their system(s). This time I must take what I've learned and narrow it down to 3. Some may have wondered what I'll actually do with the rest of the gear? You’re going to have to go on looks and fit alone. What will you miss looking at the most, is what stays. The heart should follow the eyes, and the ears have already been captured by all. So go with that. Being that you have seen fit to accommodate a tempestuous girlfriend in your life, no need to suffer sorrow on top of it. Go with what makes your eyes sing my friend (hers can’t be too far behind). Surely, that is the path of least resistance. |

I would sell all of that and buy what I like, because I live in reality. You do dose pose an interesting set of mind experiments that have no meaning, because no one knows what everything there sound like, much less the interactions. I prefer to create my meaningless thought experiments around the hypothetical constructs of dark matter and quarks: That is some really worthless thought for almost all of us, but you have possible set a new standard... that is a good thing. |
