Amp newbie needs help

So, I found a great deal on a Focal 826S package (fronts, rears, sub and CC). I plan on running it with my Pioneer Elite VSX-81TXV and potentially a hand me down Hafler 220. A good friend of mine suggests upgrading the receiver and not worrying about an amp, for now. I don't have a problem with my receiver and would like to upgrade the amp. I'm not looking to spend more than $800 or so (I know it's not alot - but it's what I can afford). Any suggestions out there for what I've got going?

Any help is appreciated...

Thanks

Yep, I second the Emotiva recommendation. The XPA-5 would be ideal, but they're out of stock currently. You may still be able to order it, call them on the phone. Barrring that, and XPA-3 + a UPA-2 would also be a killer combo and within your budget...

Here's a guy on the EmotivaLounge site with an XPA-3 for $400 + $25 shipping - that is a smokin' deal. And I know the seller to be an honest person:

I suggest buying used gear. Amps get very little wear and tear. I would look for a used ATI 1505 or a closeout NHT power 5.
Yes... I should have mentioned that I am primarily interested in used equimpment.

Thanks
