Amazon Music HD

Hi, I have a trial version of the Amazon Music HD app in my iMac, which is hooked up to my RME ADI-2 DAC via USB. Until today the app was correctly showing my device capability (i.e. that of the ADI-2 DAC) as 24bit/768kHz. Now it shows me 24bit/44.1 kHz and is playing at 16bit/44.1kHz even when the track quality is higher. I have reset the DAC to factory defaults but it persists. Does anyone know what the problem might be, or has anyone had a similar experience? I would also be interested to hear opinions about Amazon HD. Thanks!

I have the answer now: I just needed to change the setting in the Audio MIDI utility.

@garbo

can you tell us more about the Amazon streaming? How is the quality? Can you use Jriver or Roon?
The sampling frequency is a minimum of cd quality, often superior. To my ears at least, it sounds that way. I don´t have Roon but imagine it should work. The app is easy to install and use, at least on a Mac. Give it a try for free and judge for yourself. I for one am impressed.

We have some great news for you – going forward, there will be no extra charge for HD as part of your Amazon Music Unlimited subscription.
You will continue to have full access to all of your HD content, but at no additional cost. This change will be reflected in your next billing cycle.

I cancelled Tidal (HD) soon as Amazon launched Prime UltraHD, been completely satisfied. Have the family plan, so everyone in the family can listen to whatever they want simultaneously in HD. Apparently pricing is becoming even more attractive.
