advice for new phono pre

I'm looking to improve upon the sound of my schiit mani.  I like it, but I'm curious if I can do better with my setup?  I have an upgraded Rega P3 (external PSU, subplatter upgrade) with a Nagaoka mp200 cartridge but I'd like to get something that supports both MM and MC for the future (supposedly the mani does MC, but it's not spectacular.)  I'm looking to spend in the $800-$1,200 range.  Any suggestions?
