Adjusting Azimuth on VPI Prime Signature Turntable

Quick question, on the VPI Prime Signature turntable, should you use the 'azimuth side weight knobs' for azimuth adjustment? VPI says no, but I guy who gets paid to set up turntables says yes (I won't mention any names).  Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

I say no because loosening the side knobs, well, loosens them. This means that over time, they can move and not retain their place, adjusting azimuth to be off.

If you don’t have one already, pick up the Soundsmith Counterintuitive, which allows fine tuning of the azimuth as well as tracking force. For JMW tonearms, they are a lifesaver.

@thankful You can get the Counterintuitive on most retail sites like Music Direct, even Amazon.

I agree about the dual pivot.  It does a couple of things right. It makes setting the azimuth crazy easy.

Otherwise, and a clear second best, as the Counterintuitive.
