I've heard them before. I was impressed by how articulate they sounded for the asking price. An easy decision to make IMO.

I believe the line was originally sourced in Canada way back when. Then sold to someone but now recently required by a Brit company and back in the game. Thomas and Stereo did a nice review of their 509 stand mount and what I can read sounds good. The bookshelf AE500 uses the same mid/woof and tweeter as the larger 509 I believe. I think the US retailers require a restocking fee so that doesn't appeal. I remember having a pair of the old models thirty years ago and selling them to a friend. He was subsequently burglarized and really distressed that he couldn't find replacements. |
