I have one, great unit for sure. Extremly dynamic and detailed presentation. Can be bright sounding with SS componets and a bare walled and tiled floor room.
I'd look up the Stereophile review before buying, by Robert Harley. It's hard to believe that it's as poor as he says, but on the other hand, he was one reviewer I tended to trust and I've heard a number of digital components he's reviewed. It can't hurt to have Harley's input, can it, even if you decide to buy a DP-55 anyway? It would make me cautious.
