A SHOCKING DISCOVERY ABOUT DIGITAL AUDIO

This might come as a shock, not in a bad way but I have discovered that 320KBPS MP3 is actually bit perfect. Shocking isnt it? That does not mean the quality is the same as CD. It is not. You have been warned the master has spoken.

The second shocking discovery i have made recently is that i can actually hear the difference between 320kbps and wav. I never thought i could do it but i heard it.

Can anybody do what i have done?  I dare any of you audiophiles

"You have been warned the master has spoken."

- well, you sure are the masterbaiter ...

+1 @dill

The most shocking thing about his thread is that it doesn't have to do with speakers.

The most shocking thing about his thread is that it doesn't have to do with speakers.

Ha ha!

$5 bucks says this thread gets deleted before midnight PST, just like the last one.

OR

NO ONE ELSE RESPOND AND IT WILL LAST FOREVER

I'm just sitting here remembering that famous CoD player who made a video of himself playing CoD and bragging about how great he was with the cheat program still up on his screen.

This is the second one about digital. Even though previous one was deleted.

Glad we are changing course.

Tell us you don't understand what bitperfect is without telling us you don't know what bitperfect is.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. -Albert Einstein.

Are you running the sound through your Paragraphic Frequalizer?

If not, your listening tests are invalid. Sorry.

I thought doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is called 'practice'. Never understood that quote, and was it really said by Albert Einstein?

That "quote", if it is one, is the most stupid cliche in circulation. It's especially cringe-worthy currently, when it's fashionable to call everything "insane" instead of using one of a thousand more appropriate adjectives.

@kenjit

You stand alone in that rarified space, IDK what space, but you are alone in it.

@kota1

You stand alone in that rarified space, IDK what space, but you are alone in it.

That is EXACTLY what I wanted to hear. Thankyou. You are correct.

Lots of funny guys here these days.  Unfortunately OP ain’t one of those.

Nah, we are all going to save a lot of money and subscribe to lossy Spotify and praise the Swedes who own it and their infinite wisdom. Lossless better-quality files? Yeah, who needs them, right?  Uh, no. Just no. Come on, even the OP has to know that you can't throw out nearly 60% of the information in a file and expect it to be "bit perfect". I hope his comment was tongue in cheek or maybe finger in ear....

Nah, we are all going to save a lot of money and subscribe to lossy Spotify and praise the Swedes who own it and their infinite wisdom.

I have said that I can hear the difference between 320 kbps and wav. But the question is whether the rest of you can. If you can't then lossy spotify is fine for the rest of you.

These high rez files are mostly a scam.Where are spotify and Tidal getting hold of all these high rez recordings? The Master recordings were probably all cd quality. Where is the evidence the recordings were done using ultra high bandwidth microphones, analogue/ digital gear?

"I hope his comment was tongue in cheek or maybe finger in ear"

- As far as the history of the OP and all his posts in this and other forums, the "finger" certainly doesn't belong in the ear ...

Suppose you constantly try to pass yourself off as an audio genius.  And suppose you are an idiot.  But I repeat myself.

But the question is whether the rest of you can?

Question mark added. My answer is YES!

Where is the evidence the recordings were done using ultra high bandwidth microphones

This question tells you all you need to know. (mic drop)

Why do you have to pick up something amir said in another thread and repeat it as your finding?

"The second shocking discovery i have made recently is that i can actually hear the difference between 320kbps and wav. I never thought i could do it but i heard it."

- Notice there was no mention of what sounded different, just that it sounded different. As usual from his posts, no actual useful info, just patting himself on the back and looking for accolades ... Time would be better spent for him engaging the "shift" key for the "i".

@kenjit

Answer this one: When you heard this difference, what speakers were you listening through?

kenjit has the most arduous listening routine of any audiophile. Here he is signaling which ear he hears the signal with:

All the best,
Nonoise

Answer this one: When you heard this difference, what speakers were you listening through?

That is the shocking thing. You won't believe me but I was using a cheap pair of earbuds. Not speakers. I expect I would still hear the difference with speakers but I did not try.

Nobody believes you! You manage to leave a trail of disbelief whatever forum you pollute.

Oh, he can hear things we can’t. There are soooooo many voices in his head, and only he, the Kenidjit, can hear them.

Why does Audiogon keep letting this clown back on the forum?

Consistently condescending towards the ENTIRE Audiogon community. Posts the most idiotic comments.

Clearly Audiogon doesn’t care this clown is turning this forum into a circus.

@perkri .  Public forum.  Not sure what it takes to be banned, but as long as you play by the rules??? Equal  Opportunity  Destroyer.

Bit perfect when 90% of bits are actually missing? Well, at least those 10% from the original song are perfect!

Kenjit brings to mind the Stevie Smith poem - to parphrase - " But still he lay moaning - I was too far out all my life not (wav)ing but drowning."

Y'all know the best way to silence kenjit is to just ignore him, right? Perhaps you just can't resist opening up the "box".

Op said nothing and contradicted himself. If mp3 are so much better why do you imply cds sound better? Just trying to ruffle feathers by saying nothing. Kenjit has always posted one ridiculous post after another for years. Doesn’t contribute anything of value. I’m convinced he doesn’t even own a stereo. If he does, he isn’t willing to share because it’s an all in one Chinese stereo one would have maybe plugged into the wall in their garage 20 years ago next to the dog food and screwdrivers. Better yet, maybe he built the “perfect” speakers he thinks should be made out of concrete only to find out everyone else saying that was an idiotic idea we’re somehow actually correct.
