Jc; "balanced" is a type of input and output terminal(s) (a 3 pin job) and is known as an XLR connector. Whereas "unbalanced" is known as the more common input and output RCA (single pin) connector and terminal. RCA is also known as "single ended" as it has just one centerpin.
