A question from a neophyte audiophile

What the heck is the difference b/w Lexicon MC12 "balanced" and Lexicon MC12 "unbalanced"?? JCB
Jc; "balanced" is a type of input and output terminal(s) (a 3 pin job) and is known as an XLR connector. Whereas "unbalanced" is known as the more common input and output RCA (single pin) connector and terminal. RCA is also known as "single ended" as it has just one centerpin. Many good components have both. Cheers. Craig
It has to do with whether the audiophile buyer is or is not on psychotropic medication (yet).

Balanced connections are preferred for long long runs.
