A Conrad Johnson pre for cj amp

Looking for an older unit to match my recent purchased cj premier 4 amp. Not looking to spend too much, would like something decent with tubes and reliable. Under a thousand would be nice. Phono not required but welcomed.

Agree with Mike ! Had one and was satisfied ! Buy extra Mullard tubes from Watford valves in England. Much less expensive than CJ dealer.
The PV 14 Mk2 is a Great pre amp, at around 1200.00 used. Be sure It has the Mullard tubes, Ithas a nice warn detailed sound to it. I have had that pre in my system in the past and found it very good.

Mike.
Although it will cost around usd 1500 second hand the cj Premier fourteen is a bargain - you get the same input selector and Vishay volume attenuator as used in their top preamps and the gain stage, based in a triode gain - cathode follower topology, sounds much better than their older preamps.
conrad johnson PV 11 has a phono or the PV11L without great preamp usually goes for 600-800, had it for about 10 years before upgrading to their Premier 16
