8 track tape vs 1st press vinyl

Sam here and the fact that 8 track tape is a tape to tape transfer from the master reel to reel tape gives it the edge as far as overall tone and soundstage although vinyl has a wider stereo image it sounds more 2d than 8track 3d soundstage in my opinion.

I had an older Lamborghini for several years on a limited license that mandated period accessories including radio. It was fitted with an 8 track player. Aside from the fact that every time I shifted into first, third or fifth gears I pushed the tape in and it started playing, the sound was plagued by that stretched tape issue to the point that I only ever used the radio to listen to.

Budget medium and basically flawed - a decent (used to have a Nakamichi) cassette player would easily exceed fidelity even on an new 8 track tape.
8 track? You can’t be serious. How many of your master tapes were eaten up by an 8 track player. Check this -  No turntable ever ate a single vinyl record. Maybe scratched a few due to user error. A Cheech and Chongs recording of the final version of Dave does not count. You know, that ending where Chong is stoned and destroying the record. Yes, that one.
