40th Annoversary Linn LP12- huh?

Ok, so Linn is issuing a 40th anniversary version on the LP12 with a base made out of the casks used to age scotch. Cool idea. $40 grand. Not cool. But here's what really threw me. It's 2013, the LP 12 came out in 1972. Even without a calculator I know that's 41 years ago. What am I missing?

Oh, and I don't think I'll be buying it. I bought my LP12 in 1998, 26 years after it first came out. By new Linn math, I'm calling mine a 25th anniversary model.
