  Member Reviews
Audiogon members are some of the most prolific high-end audio connoisseurs.  You have come to know a huge variety of products over a long period of time.  You are fanatical about recreating the best possible sound possible.

Sharing experiences is the best way to learn.  Describing what you hear, and comparing it to past experience are valuable to both the reader and the writer.  You will be helping others learn while getting to know your own thoughts better.

How to submit a Review
Submit a review by clicking here.  You will need to pick a specific model from a specific manufacturer, and then submit your review for that product.  The system will ask for some specific information, and then provide you with a large text box to submit your comments.  We recommend that you first write your review in a word processor on your personal computer, so that you may edit and spell check as needed.  The web based text boxes are difficult to proof-read, so it will be helpful if you compose your words offline, then copy and paste.

Moderators must approve
Similar to the general forums, submitted reviews must be approved by moderators before they are posted on the site.  Moderators will allow great latitude in the breadth and scope of reviews, but there are some guidelines that must be followed.  Reviews that show too little effort or too little information may be declined, as will reviews that are inflammatory, obvious shills, or libelous.  Describe what you hear, and how that compares to similar products you have auditioned.

What we are looking for
Useful information, first-hand experiences, and the gory details of match-making. Most of all, the reviews should be in context and in comparison to other products.  Your review will be more meaningful if the reader knows the context of your system, your musical tastes, etc.  Comparing the sound of this product to that of similar models will help readers to understand your descriptions.

How does it fit the rest of your system?  How does it compare to other products you tried in that system?  How does it play your favorite music?  How does it sound with a commonly mentioned "reference" disc.  How are the ergonomics? Does it have any quirks? Will it match particular components better than others?

Types of products to review
Almost anything employed in quality audio video systems can be reviewed.  Components, cables, tubes and tweaks are all welcome.  Products of all vintages are welcome, and we especially encourage reviews of "legendary" products - those models that have withstood the test of time and market trends.

What to disclose in your review
If you have any relation to the company, people, or distribution network behind the product in question, you must say so.  If you acquired the product as anything other than a consumer or end user purchase, you must say so.  Commercial users are welcome to submit reviews, but only if they are truly useful to members, and as long as they disclose any business affiliations.

Goals of this feature
We hope the Member Review section will provide a valuable resource to all users.  The reviews should be honest evaluations from the ultimate critics: end users. Readers should keep in mind that some owners' comments may be biased by their purchase descision. However, Audiogon members are some of the most ruthless critics of their own purchases. They know it will eventually be replaced, as evidenced by their listings and feedback. So we are confident that members of this community will help us build a most useful resource for those who wish to enjoy and advance this hobby.
