Any Fatboy Unipivot Users?
I went from the 10" 3-D Unipivot to the Fatboy Unipivot on my Classic Signature table.  Never had an issue with the original 3-D, and found that the Fatboy with the 2nd pivot mod is both more stable and sounds better.Since I didn't have any proble...
Rega RP10 vs. VPI Classic Signature
Bpoletti - I already have the RP10 and got it at a time when I didn't feel like "tweaking" so I chose it over the VPI. Pricing on the Classic Sig is a bit more attractive now, so I'm making the jump. It may just turn out that the VPI trounces all ...
Rega RP10 vs. VPI Classic Signature
I had considered taking the route of running a Prime along with my RP10/Apheta 2, but it looks like it'll be the Classic Sig instead. Proper support for both will be important. The RP10 will live on a spiked Lack table until I can get my Target sh...
Rega RP10 vs. VPI Classic Signature
TJ: Thanks for the ART9 suggestion. That cart is definitely now on my radar. Have had luck in the past with the AT 155LC MM cart that was recommended to me by Raul. Just ordered the Classic Sig. Easy to make an expensive mistake with MC carts so I...
Pani ... New ART-9 up and running ...
What is the measurement from stylus tip to the top of the cartridge? I'm thinking about trying one of these on my Rega.
Rega RP10 vs. VPI Classic Signature
Thanks, Stingreen!Definitely looking at going with the 3D arm on the Classic Sig.Having used a Rondo Bronze in the past on a Technoarm, I'm fairly comfy going with another Ortofon. Have you had good results on the VPI with other carts?
ortofon 2m bronze vs rega Exact 2 cartridge
If you're able to tweak the VTA with shims to your liking, then by all accounts either the Bronze or Black should be a good mate with your arm. I've only used the Rondo Bronze with a Rega-style arm on a Linn, but was able to adjust the VTA, so tha...
Zesto Andros PS-1 Tubes
@Mechans: I bought the M8137s lightly used from a fella who bought them NOS from an online dealer.. I think he had tried them in a Marshall amp and decided he was looking for something else. One NOS tube dealer that I've worked with called the M81...
Zesto Andros PS-1 Tubes
I'm pretty sure that there's no need or way to change the bias on the Andros. I've never had any tube gear that called for biasing of the small signal tubes, like Mechans said.Sorry to hear your Brimars got tired-out prematurely. I think that my C...
Zesto Andros PS-1 Tubes
@ToddJust seeing your post now. I recently found my manual and realized that while I had my pairs in the correct spots, I had the input and output positions confused.I'm still using the Telefunken/Mullard box plate combo but have been thinking of ...
Rega rp8 vs Project extension 10
I use a SLP-98P F-1, though I'm currently running my TTs through a Zesto phono stage. The Cary's phono stage should work great with the Ortofon Black. I also had very good results running a Denon DL-103r through a Bob's Devices SUT into the MM sect...
RP8 dustcover or not?
I will be dealing with this issue in a few weeks when my RP10 arrives.Even though I'd prefer to not use the outer-frame and dust cover, I likely will since my cats love sneaking into the stereo room. You might see if there's a Ginko or similar acry...
Zesto Andros PS-1 Tubes
I lived with the stock tubes for quite a while and was very happy. I only swapped them out when I was chasing some noise gremlins (which turned out to be a preamp tube).I started with a set of Tungsram-Austria labeled 12AX7's and a set of Telefunk...
Phonomena, vs PS GCPH, Others?
Jaspert,Not to completely hijack the thread, but could you offer a bit of comparison between the four phono stages that you preferred to the PS Audio?
Mobile Fidelity Surface Noise
I've also found them to be hit or miss on the pressing quality. Music Direct has been good about returns. Sometimes the replacement has been better, but a bad pressing run is just that.
