Problem: Buyer reports problem with purchase 05-07-2003: Cadmaniac initiated process 05-07-2003: Dred submitted response
Cadmaniac describes the events as follows: Payment sent thru bidpay.com 4/24, and Amp arrived 5/6. Screws missing from cover. Plugged in upon arrival, the right channel doesn't work. Notified seller (Dred) immediately, and requested refund. Seller agreed, then later (same day) suggested I have unit repaired (which I responded was unacceptable), and had already removed the listing. Next day (5/7), seller demanded that I return the amp before being refunded, apparently at my own expense. Also, Dred posted negative feedback as retaliation for my having reported the facts.
Cadmaniac is requesting the following resultion: Complete refund of payment, including shipping both ways. Removal of spiteful feedback from buyer's profile. Suspension of Dred's membership. I discovered too late that such deception is becoming a habit with him.
Dred describes the events as follows: I tested this amp before I sent it and it worked perfectly. I assume UPS has hammered it. That is not the point-I understand that Audiogon wants the seller to be responsible for shipping damage. The point is I am tired of getting nasty comments that accuse me of sending out broken equipment and being called a liar. Because cadmaniac has acted like a maniac I don't trust him with the amp and the money so I want the amp back first. The spiteful feedback was a result of his negative feedback that led everyone to believe that I had sent out an amp with a dead channel. I bought the amp from a dealer friend of mine and if there are screws missing I am so sorry but the missing screws have NOTHING to do with an amp that worked fine the day I sent it. I have good feedback both here and on ebay but I am tired of nasty people-Even in his proposal below he asks for suspension of membership and again insults me by calling me deceptive. If he continues the insults I am willing to say goodbye to him and Audiogon.
Dred's proposed resolution: 1-return the amp and in a condition that has not been purposely harmed. ( he is an angry person and as such I don't trust him at this point) 2-remove nasty negative feedback from both profiles. 3-Seller refunds payment and shipping only after 4-apology for assuming I sent out a broken amp and apology for all the insults and accusations.
Cadmaniac's rebuttal:
