The Road Back ...is Digital Pictures forthcoming. I took a hiatus. My finances dictated that. So I started from scratch. I still have about 800 LPs...and no table. I'll probably get something simple like a Carbon and a fair Grado wood body. I had a pro vinyl rig, and not sure I can go down that rabbit-hole again. That said, I am still ripping CDs...since the year 2000. I have a about 3000 files over 96kHz, and then many decent needledrops at high-rez. I have been exploring a lot of demo discs from various manufacturers, and many 44kHz MFSL and DCC recordings. Some HDtracks stuff is hit or miss, others are outstanding. I have been organizing my collection to also create more great playlists, as I keep re-discovering and uncovering wonderful recordings. The room is probably as treated as it my wife will allow, and I plan to use Audiolense and native 64bit convolution in J. River Media Center after I let the settle settle in until the Fall of 2012. JRemote, thank goodness that app finally came along...it has really rounded out JRiver and I use the iPad to control the system whether it be the office or hifi, or streaming back to my devices while on the road. |
