My daily departure After a long day at dental school I need an escape from reality and music provides a great departure from hectic days. Feel free to comment or recommend other gear. Although my stereo sounds great to me, I have not had the opportunity to hear a lot of hi-fi stuff and thus I am not sure how good my set-up is in comparison to others. Thanks for looking.

It looks like you have tile floor. You might find the system to sound a little better if you extend the area rug to cover more of the floor in front of the speakers.
I was also thinking about filling the stands with some sand but I'm not sure that it would make any notable difference in the sound. Audiodds (System | This Thread)

I think that filling the stands with sand, would certainly make a notable difference in the sound of your system. Metal stands have a tendency to "ring" and sand would certainly help dampen this effect. Cleaneduphippy (Threads | Answers | This Thread)
