I was the only bidder on a Portal Panache here on Agon about a year and a half ago. Got it a great deal on it. The sound was very good IMO, very warm and natural for a ss amp. The big drawback is the lack of remote control, and that is a big drawback when your accustomed to remote volume and lazy to boot. I think I sold mine on a whim to a "want to buy" ad. If you don't mind no remote, the Portal is a very nice amp for the used price, <$800 if you're in no hurry.
