02-13-06   What kind of diffusion panels are those?   Linaeum66

02-18-06: Zephyr_wak
They are similar to auralex, combination of 2" and 4" foam wedges.

Timrhu, thanks for the comment. That is the listening seat in the picture. I sit about 6ft away from the speakers and they are about 6ft apart to each other. This is the only position I find to sound the best. Move too far back and the soundstage shrink, too close and I hear midbass bump.

03-13-06   Very nice system. is that a mapleshade rack?   Bobgates

03-19-06: Zephyr_wak
Bobgates, the rack is a DIY project that I built using Mapleshade rack as reference. Mapleshade uses solid maple for the shelves while mine uses pine. They are not as hard and heavy as maple but I think they work out fine.

Timrhu, I used 3/4-10 thread aluminum rods. The spikes are from audiopoints and nuts are made of brass. The plan was to use brass rods but they are too expensive.

Chuttt,

Thanks for your comment. The foams really help cleaning up the image and increasing the soundstage depth. I also have some right behind my chair, I sit about 3ft from the back wall. The effect may be less if you have a direct source speaker. However, with the Maggies, it is a huge difference.

Youssef101,

Those are Audiopoints spikes. They are brass.
