Exemplar Modified Oppo 93?

Has anyone heard this and compared it to other "high-end" players? Thanks
jfz
I have heard both the Exemplar/Oppo 93 and 95. I find both great, but the 95 is clearly superior. Were I to have a player, I would certainly buy the 95. Presently, I have no capability to play my SACDs, but I find a music server very convenient and with better sound than even the 93, but I have not tried the 95 against it.
Interesting! John Tucker told me the modified 93 was better than the modified 95, but that was a year ago or so.
Jfz, I was told that also a year ago, but this was not what I heard at the 2012 CES.
Both the 93 and 95 are great players.

The 93 has that "see through" sound that John Tucker is noted for. A very musical presentation with lots of detail. I'd put it up against virtually any player, it's a strong performer.

But as good as the 93 is, the 95 is better. Better base, and a realism in the midrange that is incredible. But that in no way diminishes the 93.
Thanks for your response, 84audio. I'm now considering the 95. Do have any experience or thoughts about the Exemplar "vs" Modwright mods on this player?

Thanks very much!
"I'd put it up against virtually any player". LOL, seriously, are you joking, or just hearing impaired?
I have both the BDP-83 SE Oppo based Exemplar, further modded, and the Denon 2900 based Exemplar. I love them both and as much as I have tried, I can't really pick a favorite between them, though they do soundstage differently. In my system, the BDP-83 based Exemplar, further modded with EMF cloth and a hi Fi tuning fuse, has a deeper and more recessed soundstage. In my system, the Denon 2900 based Exemplar, siltech wired, is ALL soundstage, it's much more forward.
Theduker, I had the Exemplar/Denon 2900 as well as the 3910 and 5910. My favorite was the final version of the 3910. I don't recall ever thinking that any of these were too forward, but I don't like EMF cloth as it closes down the sound.

I would strong recommend that you get a listen to the new Exemplar/Oppo 105 with the FineMet beads. You haven't heard digital until then.
