I own a BAT VK-D5SE and I'm starting to have problems with the transport, so I am going to send it back to BAT for repairs. My unit is an original VK-D5SE. The current model has a 24 bit digital chip. The upgrade would cost me an additional $800. To anyone who has heard the basic VK-D5SE and the new 24 bit VK-D5SE, my question is: What sonic difference is there? Is it worth $800 in your opinion?
